Artist's Statement

My artwork depicts the leg of a knee-replacement patient surrounded by CDs. The CDs represent music used as pain therapy. I used calming colors in the background of my work to reflect the effect the music has on the patient. My overall goal for this work was to evoke a sense of calm and convey the idea of music assisting the healing process by easing pain.
