My photograph is an abstract representation of Caroline’s study. Her results concluded that patients are not always assessed properly, especially in regards to the pain they are enduring. The pole has experienced that same type of neglect, although on an inanimate scale. The screw remaining in place represents the solid backbone that are the doctors and the hospital, whereas the paint's decay shows the lack of proper care the pole is receiving. Try as the nurses may to cover the results in the study, the true quality of care is ultimately shown. In the photograph, paint attempts to camouflage the decay, but in the end, it peels away to show the truth, gruesome as it may be.
