Artist's Statement

I wanted to represent the blood stream as well as the difference between healthy and sick blood cells within the blood stream. I used water colors to represent the flowing bloodstream. I wanted to make sure there was a noticeable difference between the healthy cells and the sick cells. For the sick cells, I used watercolors and distorted them by adding drops of black, alcohol, and salt. For the healthy cells, I made them stand out and shine by mixing acrylics and gel medium. I wanted my piece to be slightly abstract, but still have a medical feel.
