Artist's Statement

In my artwork I am showing the ill effects of cholesterol on the arteries by using Leonardo Da Vinci's Vetruvian Man. I am focusing on the cross section of his heart. I am using a plunger to show the vibration that would loosen the cholesterol according to the research. I am also showing the Lipitor pills which also help reduce the plaque in the arteries. I use lighter values in the middle to create a center of interest around the heart.
