Artist's Statement

My artwork was inspired by Mark Silver's presentation on how heat affects the pain level of patients before and after surgery. I did an abstraction of the skull as heat tries to permeate through the bone. The heat is represented through the bright colors that slowly turn into cool colors as they are closer to the skull. The heat will travel through the body to soothe and aid the patient's pain.
