Artist's Statement

My artwork is entitled Hope. I entitled it Hope because I believe even though you have breast cancer, you have hope to get rid of it. One half of her body has an incision for receiving a reconstructed breast. The other half of her is a regular breast. The incision gives her hope to go on, because the cancer was removed. The broken heart is held together by a breast cancer ribbon. I achieved this by using acrylic paints, such as reds, pinks, and a turquoise blue, in the background to make the picture seem three-dimensional.
