Virtual Teacher Workshops
eXpressions™ is interdisciplinary line of programs that utilizes creativity to engage high school students in the world of scientific research. Through project-based, peer-to-peer learning, students produce creative interpretations of research conducted by Cleveland Clinic high school interns. In addition to giving participants a deeper, real-world understanding of multiple disciplines, the program promotes creativity, innovation, communication, and teamwork. Plus, it gives high school students and their teachers the opportunity to earn undergraduate and graduate credit, respectively, from Northeast Ohio universities.
EXPLORERS is an innovative program, formerly called Health eXpressions™, that employs the visual arts to engage young people in grades K-8 in the study of health and wellness. Through this interdisciplinary initiative, Cleveland Clinic medical professionals speak to area art classes on important health issues, and the students then bring their newfound knowledge to life through artistic interpretations. In addition to helping students achieve optimal health and a deeper appreciation of art, the program promotes creativity, innovation, communication, and self-esteem, and gives teachers the opportunity to earn graduate-level college credits from Northeast Ohio universities.
