John Hay Educational Partnership

Elena Marquetti graduated from John Hay in 1999. She now works as an Education Program Coordinator with Cleveland Clinic Health System, bringing to current high school students the same kind of programs that helped her focus and succeed.

“I liked the Medical Biological program because it enhanced my opportunities to learn about things that I would not have been able to until college. I would recommend the Medical Biological program to others because it was an excellent opportunity to get hands-on and minds-on experiences and knowledge that aided me in deciding where my interests were in the medical field and in making my career choices. I think it would do the same for them. The Medical Biological program helped me to get a better understanding about medicine, life, and the human body and how it functions. I had the opportunity to work with patients as well as the health care professional at all levels at The Clinic. The Medical Biological program positively influenced my life academically by giving me a knowledge base I would not have had access to in regular comprehensive classes. It gave me a jump start on pre-med courses and challenged me in the classroom and in the work world. The Medical Biological program positively influenced my life personally by giving me the determination and dedication to excel in high school and towards the completion of college. It has made me feel good about myself, the knowledge I possess and what I can do. Who knows how far I can go – as far as I want to go.”
