The Campus

Teaching in the first two years occurs at the Cleveland Clinic, where the classrooms, student lockers and lounge with computers, and the medical education offices reside in the Education Wing of the Lerner Research Institute. This puts students near research labs, clinical space, and offices of many of the faculty, as most of the College's teaching faculty are Cleveland Clinic staff physicians and researchers. Students also have easy access to the resources of the Cleveland Clinic, including the Alumni Library, numerous dining options, and the House Staff Center.

In addition to the facilities at the Cleveland Clinic, students in the College Program have access to all the facilities available to other Case medical students, including Case’s Health Sciences Library and athletic facilities.

During the last 3 years of the College Program, students can elect their clerkships at any of the teaching hospitals in Cleveland (PDF) affiliated with Case.

PBL Rooms

The PBL rooms, accessible by students for study 24 hours a day, are equipped with electronic whiteboards that can save information in a digital format, capturing notes for later study. A desktop computer with a remote mouse and keyboard serves as a hub for technology used in the room. Other equipment includes a VHS and DVD player, a ceiling mounted projector and a Bluetooth-enabled virtual notepad. An in-room patient examination table provides for hands-on clinical learning.

Anatomical Sciences Education Center

An electronic classroom is utilized for instruction and the real-time observation of surgical procedures.

Cadavers are dissected and examined in a surgical setting.

In situ anatomy is explored with an advanced imaging system.

Athletic Facilities

The Fitness Center on the Cleveland Clinic campus offers a variety of activities. Nautilus equipment, full and half-court basketball and an Olympic size swimming pool are all available for use at an affordable membership rate.
A variety of physical fitness facilities are available at CWRU free of charge. The Emerson Physical Education Center includes a swimming pool, squash and racquetball courts, wrestling rooms, and Nautilus and free weight rooms.

The Veale Convocation, Recreation, and Athletic Center has a 200 meter track; four basketball, volleyball, tennis courts; and two aerobic dance studios. Van Horn Field and Freiberger Fields are intramural fields. Tennis courts are located on campus as well, with the nearest courts on Carlton Road, the south campus, or Mistletoe Courts near Clark Tower. For more information on Case’s facilities, go to

There is also a private athletic club called One To One Fitness Center, across from the University Hospital Garage on 2130 Adelbert Road. Information on the facilities and charges can be obtained by calling (216) 368-1121 or contact via e-mail

The Cleveland Clinic campus offers numerous dining options, including a cafeteria in the Lerner Research Institute (the building where CCLCM is located). Subway, McDonald’s, Au Bon Pain, and Starbucks have locations on campus. A variety of restaurants are also located in the neighborhood surrounding CWRU and the Cleveland Clinic.

Students have their own lounge available 24 hours per day. The room has a small kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator, free coffee machine, mailboxes and a bulletin board, a TV/VCR, comfortable seating, computer terminals that give users access to word processors, e-mail, the Cleveland Clinic electronic medical record, and the CCF Intranet, and a printer and copier.
