Where to Report

To begin your rotation, check in by 7:30 A.M. the morning of the first week-day of your elective in the Medical Student Education Department. We are located on the second floor (room NA2-97) of the Lerner Research Institute on Carnegie Avenue between E. 96th and E. 100th street. A map is enclosed that provides directions on how to get to the CCF campus. You will be given an administrative orientation to the Cleveland Clinic and materials and information mentioned in this guide will be provided.

The orientation is generally scheduled in the Lerner Research Institute. The room number of orientation location will be posted directing you to the room location.

Identification Badges

An I.D. badge will be issued to you after your orientation. You must wear your I.D. badge at all times at the Clinic facility. Should you leave the premises and return late, you must have your I.D. badge with you as the Security Office will require that you present it to regain admittance to the campus buildings.

Lab Coats

White coats are issued on your first day. When your lab coat becomes soiled, you may take it to the Uniform Room (located in the basement of the TT building) and exchange it. The Uniform Room Service hours are: Monday -through Friday 7:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M.

The Cleveland Clinic utilizes a uniform exchange program. Upon proper authorization you will receive a specified number of scrub uniforms that you may exchange, when soiled, on a one-to-one basis, during your rotation. Medical Students will be accommodated when presenting an authorization form provided by the Medical Student Education Department. Students will be issued the prescribed number of O.R. scrubs at the TT basement Uniform Room. If O.R. scrubs are not returned at the end of your visit, you will be charged for the cost of the uniforms.

Dress Code

Students are expected to dress in a professional manner. T-shirts, cut-offs, etc. are not allowed. It is recommended that you wear comfortable shoes.
