| Dr. Miriam Delaney, M.D., M.R.C.P.I., F.A.C.E. is Associate Director of the Center for Osteoporosis and Metabolic Bone Diseases and also holds an appointment in the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Transplant Center . She is a clinical endocrinologist, but solely sees patients with osteoporosis, disorders of calcium metabolism, and metabolic bone diseases. Dr. Delaney received her medical degree at University College Dublin, Ireland, and completed residency training in Internal Medicine at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin. In 1995, she was awarded the membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. She moved to Boston in 1995 where she completed residency training in internal medicine at Boston Medical Center. Her fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism was at Joslin Diabetes Center, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, at Harvard Medical School, Boston. She is board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. Prior to joining the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, she was a faculty member at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Division of Endocrinology, where she was the Associate Director of the Skeletal Health and Osteoporosis Program. She is a member of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research, International Society of Clinical Densitometry, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, and National Osteoporosis Foundation. Her current research activities are in postmenopausal osteoporosis, male osteoporosis, bone density, genetics of osteoporosis, and transplant related osteoporosis. She speaks at local and national meetings on osteoporosis, calcium bone disorders, and metabolic bone disease related issues. |
