Art Program at the Cleveland Clinic
Mission of the Art Program
The mission of The Cleveland Clinic Art Program is to enrich, inspire and enliven our patients, visitors, employees and community and to embody the core values of the institution: collaboration, quality, integrity, compassion, and commitment.
The collection evidences a commitment to supporting the national and local arts communities. An emphasis on contemporary art fosters an environment of creative excellence, encourages dialogue and challenges viewers to experience diverse points of view. The art reflects an interest in underlying concepts such as innovation, teamwork and service which are fundamental cornerstones of The Cleveland Clinic.
Welcome to the Art Program at the Cleveland Clinic
The Cleveland Clinic Art Program is a permanent department at the Cleveland Clinic, and is currently based at the Lyndhurst Clinic facility. The charge of this department is to implement acquisitions for the Clinic collection, act in an advisory capacity to the Aesthetics Committee and the Department of Institutional Relations and Development to assist with donations of artworks through the Art in Medicine program, and to provide services ranging from installation to inventory and upkeep of the collection throughout all Cleveland Clinic facilities. In addition, the Art Program curates and organizes exhibitions and related educational programming.
The Program consists of an Executive Director and Curator, Joanne Cohen, two Assistant Curators, Jennifer Finkel and Bellamy Printz, Michael Dickas, Registrar and Preparator, and Deborah Sherwood, Administrative Assistant.
Current projects include: commissioning artworks for the new Miller Pavilion and Glickman Tower; developing an “Art Registry” with the Department of Institutional Relations and Development to increase the current collection through donations; curating art works for existing spaces system-wide as well as new renovations and buildings. There is an ongoing exhibition program in two dedicated spaces on Main Campus, the H Lobby and M Corridor, as well as occasional related public programs. The collection includes works by local, national, and internationally known artists in all media.

Most of the artworks in this exhibition and the exhibition in the M lobby will be installed throughout the new Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Pavilion and Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute in Fall 2008, so this is a unique opportunity to experience them as a group.
