John is the Director of Business Development responsible for leading the development of Distance Health. The challenge will be to develop a Distance Health service model to address the gaps in the healthcare continuum -managing and sustaining the most acute condition patients' transition to wellness.
He recently served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for a large Telemedicine company, LifeWatch, where he was the architect for innovative new Telemedicine services. He was Vice President an m-health startup, BodyMedia, where he helped develop the BodyBug™, a wearable body monitor, used with a wellness app.
He spent 19 years in management at Hewlett Packard, 5 years in Hospital Administration as Clinical Department Director for the West Penn Allegheny Healthcare System in Pittsburgh and consultant for several medical startups. As an Associate Professor at Carnegie Mellon University he also taught graduate Bioengineering courses.
His Education includes a Master's Degree in Bioengineering from Carnegie Mellon University, a Mathematics Degree from Long Island University; and a PhD Fellowship in Immunology at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He has several medical device patents .
