Gaylene is a member of the Cleveland Clinic Healthcare Innovation Alliance for the University of Notre Dame. Gaylene helps to accelerate select Notre Dame healthcare-related technologies through the commercialization process, and coordinates complementary research opportunities between Notre Dame faculty and Cleveland Clinic clinicians. Prior to joining CCI, Gaylene served over four years as a Senior Licensing Associate for the University of Idaho (UI), where she managed all life science related intellectual property for the UI system - which included many extension centers around the state, and collaborative research programs with surrounding state universities. Prior to UI, she worked seven years as a Licenisng Associate for the University of Hawaii (UH), and helped manage technologies and economic development activities from the UH School of Medicine and the Cancer Research Center. Throughout her career, she has had a strong focus on entrepreneurship activities. As a result, she has created over a dozen start-up companies, helped raise private equity in university deals, and negotiated sponsored research opportunities for academic programs. Gaylene has an under-graduate degree in Biology/Health Science from the University of Nevada, Reno, and holds an MBA from the University of Idaho.
