Mitchell Seyedin, PhD has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of ISTO Technologies Inc. since September of 2003. ISTO’s is an orthobiologic company focused on developing differentiated products for the sport medicine and spinal markets. ISTO’s products are intended to repair and regenerate damaged cartilage tissue in joints and spinal discs, and for bone regeneration in spinal fusion applications. Dr. Seyedin has been the visionary and the driving force for several successful start-up companies including Metra Biosystems which had an IPO in 1995 and later was acquired by Quidel (Nasdaq:QDEL) and Orquest Inc. which was acquired by J&J in January 2003. Dr. Seyedin began his career in industry with Collagen Corporation where he was the Director of Research and published extensively in the field of tissue engineering.
