Walter Maurer, MD
Dr. Walter Maurer is the Section Chief for Ambulatory Anesthesia within the Anesthesiology Institute at Cleveland Clinic. He is board certified in internal medicine and anesthesiology. He received his MD from The Ohio State University College of Medicine after receiving a BA and MS in mechanical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He did his internal medicine training at Los Angeles County Hospital and his residency at the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center. After practicing internal medicine for 6 years, he came to Cleveland Clinic in 1987, where he completed an anesthesia residency and then subsequently became a member of the professional staff. His areas of interest are in preoperative evaluation, ambulatory anesthesia, quality improvement, and anesthesia in remote locations.
