Esther Dyson (@edyson on twitter) isChairman of EDventure Holdings and Founder of HICCup.co, for Health Initiative Coordinating Council. HICCup is an open-source initiative devoted to defining and testing a business model for investing in health (not healthcare) that will return profits to investors and health to the participants. It will use a contest in order to attract the best participants and to give their successes and (educational) failures visibility.
Herprimary activity is investing in and nurturingstart-ups, with a recent focus on healthcareand aerospace. From October 2008 to March of 2009, she lived in Star Cityoutside Moscow, Russia, training as a backup cosmonaut.
