Luc Thijs has an MS in consular and commercial sciences (1987), as well as a degree in financial sciences (1988) at the School of Economics (EHL) in Diepenbeek, Belgium. He complemented his education with the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD in Paris (2004).

Luc was appointed President of Agfa HealthCare on April 1st, 2011. Prior to this he was Vice President Growth Markets at Agfa HealthCare, a position he held since 2009 and which required him to manage the company’s largest area in geography, covering Latin America, Africa and the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Russia and the CIS states. Luc joined Agfa-Gevaert in 1990 and held several management roles, including Vice President of Agfa HealthCare’s Imaging Division from 2006 to 2007.
